Spike [ADOPTED AUGUST 21] is a 2-year-old male who came to us from an animal control facility south of Chicago. He contracted a virus while in the shelter and was a very sick boy when he came to rescue. He was very thin. When we get a dog that is that sick, we have good luck feeding them ground beef or in some cases it takes ground sirloin to keep them eating. The virus must run its course. Slowly as he grew stronger, we weaned him off the ground beef and started him on a grain free kibble. He is now a happy guy and loves playing with the dogs in his foster home. He has a wonderful temperament. One look at his sweet little face and he can melt your heart.
