Hi! My name is Pirate; [ADOPTED JANUARY 23] let me tell you my story. I am a 5-year-old Female (DOB 11-20-04). I adore hearing my name and answer to it very well so please donít change it. I was named Pirate because when I was a tiny, tiny pup, my mama accidentally injured my eye and I had to wear a patch over it while I healed. The children thought I looked like a Pirate! I do not have sight in my left eye due to the injury, but my eye is still intact and pretty as can be. I get around quite well and can still spot a squirrel far, far away. I will let my foster mom tell you more.

Pirate was surrendered to us by her family because a family member has health issues. Pirateís family got her as a companion dog for a special needs son. They were very sad to lose her, and she misses them too. Pirate is loving and sweet, is house and crate trained. She is so well behaved she really does not need to be crated. Pirate loves to sleep in our sonís room and would be a great addition to any family. She is overweight and we are working on that. Pirate loves to watch t.v. and go for walks. She is great with all of the Cockers in the house but can get noisy when one gets too close to her food bowl. She is not used to so many dogs at mealtime so we feed her in her crate. Pirateís previous family said she was not much into dog toys, but I saw her pick up and take off with a tennis ball this morning, so she will be playing soon. I think Pirate would make a great therapy dog as she has a true wigglebutt that goes and goes.
