Lady [ADOPTED AUGUST 9] is a 4-year-old female who came to us as a surrender from Michigan. The owner reportedly had no time for her. When she came to us she was in heat so we had to wait to spay her. It was not long before we realized that she had impaired vision. She was taken to an ophthalmologist and was found to have juvenile cataracts in both eyes. It was determined that she was a good candidate for cataract surgery. It was decided to go ahead with the surgery. The surgery was a success and now Lady has good vision in both eyes. At this time she does need drops in her eyes at a cost of roughly $8 per month.

Lady is a very sweet dog who loves humans but periodically she will find another female dog that she doesn’t care for. For that reason, I would not place her in a home with a dominant female. Lady is housetrained.
