BJ [Adopted 7/26/2014] is a 9 year old red male who was an owner-surrender . He was surrendered to a city shelter who notified Shorewood . He was severely matted and had to be shaved down.
He is becoming more handsome as his coat grows.
BJ is house and crate-trained . He isn’t fond of the crate but will obey and go in when we want him to . We rarely use the crate he sleeps on a dog bed.
BJ gets along well with the dogs in the foster home . He is showing interest in playing with toys . BJ plays with our dogs but also entertains himself . He loves to push the chew bones down the stairs making lots of noise .
BJ loves to play in the fenced-in back yard . He would stay out-of-doors all day if we let him . He does have a tendency to want to get out the front door and has to be watched because we feel he will run . We are working on walking BJ on a leash with a harness . He does fine walking either with one of our dogs or by himself . Walking will help to reduce some of the extra pounds and keep him looking trim.
BJ is a loving dog who craves human attention . He has a quirky habit of letting his tongue hang out of his mouth which only adds to his personality . BJ will make a great companion for some lucky person . He will do well on his own or in a house with another dog . He knows a few commands such a “sit” and “down” .
