Annie [Adopted 5/20/2012] is a sweet, 5 year old, sable cocker spaniel that found herself in the same shelter twice in two weeks, and for no reason at all. She was surrendered to the TN shelter in early April, adopted by a person who lives in Canada The adopter planned on flying her into Canada when they returned, only to find out that could not be accoplished, she was proptly returned to the shelter so someone else could adopt and love her.
Annie is a very devoted girl, who really loves to be near her people. She gets along with other dogs but would also be just as happy as an only girl in her new home. She can be a little bossy with some of the other less dominant females in the home. Annie is house and crate trained, but she would prefer not to be in the crate if she doesn’t have to be. She does sleep in her crate at night quietly, but during the day has been trusted enough to be left out. Annie walks well on a leash, and also likes to be on the bed with her person when they read. Annie particularly is fond of her foster dad but shares her love equally between both mom and dad. Annie’s new family will want to be sure they have a patient and kind groomer as she was rather intimidated by her grooming the other day. Her foster mom went slowly and Annie let her get the job done, but there is definitely an unpleasant experience in her past that will need to be considered. We do not know what Annie’s behavior is with cats or children.
