Chelsea (Adopted 3/5/2011) is a beautiful black and white, approximately 2 year old, that had to grow up too quickly and is now ready to be someone’s baby for life. She was found tied outside of an Iowa shelter in freezing temperatures extremely pregnant. We had no idea how pregnant until she started having pups the next morning. Even though she is just barely a grownup, she handled herself magnificently, delivered and raised her 7 healthy babies and was a very good mom. She is a very loving and giving girl and loves nothing more than to be right by you, snuggle in your lap or give you a hug. Chelsea is timid at first, especially around men, but she learns to trust with patience and kind words. Chelsea is potty trained and crate trained, but she prefers to be out by her people. She is a quick learner, food motivated, and eager to please so she would make a great candidate for an obedience class. With time I could see Chelsea being a wonderful therapy dog. Chelsea is looking for a forever home where she will have toys to play with, a comfy dog bed to snuggle on and a family who adores her. She would really love to have a companion dog to play with. She is good with cats. She is still a little thin and should gain a few pounds yet to be at her ideal weight.
