Casey [ADOPTED AUGUST 20] is approximately 2 years old. He came to us from an inner city shelter where he came in as a stray. He is a very friendly, happy boy who does very well with other dogs but will chase cats if they run away. He is a bit nervous around children so would probably do best in an all adult home. He is learning about being in a crate and is adjusting well. He will need work on his housetraining.
Update from casey's Foster Mom: Casey is a big lover and a lap dog who is very content to just be where ever his people are. It just melts your heart when he jumps up on your lap, lays his head on your chest and looks up at you with those big brown puppy dog eyes. He is a well behaved boy who loves to play with toys and hasn't even attempted to chew anything that he shouldn't have. He does have an interest in people food and will help himself to your sandwich if he thinks that he can get away with it... and is so happy to see you return home that he does jump up on you. I'm working with him on some basic obedience and taking a class with his forever owner would be of great benefit for him... he just needs to perfect his manners a little bit. Casey is housetrained and hasn't had an accident here. He is a very happy boy and loves running in our fenced in backyard. He's very interested in birds and looks up in the sky and pine trees for them and will bark at them, trying to lure them to him. Casey is field coated so will require less frequent grooming. He does sleep in the human bed and settles right down and is quiet and good all night.
