Badger [ADOPTED JULY 31] is a beautiful chocolate and tan male who came to us from a commercial breeder. Everyone who has met Badger has fallen in love. He is both crate and housetrained. When Badger came into rescue he had cataracts in both eyes and very limited vision. We took him to an opthamologist who determined that one of the cataracts was operable. Badger had the surgery and it was a success. One result of the surgery was that Badger, who never bothered cats, can now see them and has become a cat chaser so he cannot go to a home with cats. After the cataract surgery we found that Badger did have pressure on his other eye. On May 3rd Badger will undergo a second surgery to hopefully forever remove that pressure. Badger is a wonderful dog and we are looking for a very special home for him.
Update: Badger's surgery did not remove the pressure in his eye so a decision was made to remove that eye and insert a prosthesis. This has not slowed him down a bit. He is still his handsome self, still plays with his ball and will not leave the cats alone.
