Maddie [ADOPTED NOVEMBER 6] is a 6 year old, red/white female who is spayed, heartworm tested, microchipped and up to date on shots. She came to us from a shelter in Wisconsin. She had been severely neglected but is improving every day. She had skin and ear infections, was filthy and matted when she came into the shelter but is responding to medication and has since been groomed. Maddie will have a problem with ongoing ear infections due to the long term neglect that has caused her ear canals to all but close. Although it was believed she was deaf from this condition, her ear canals have opened with steroids and antibiotics and it seems she has some hearing now. She has a very sunny disposition in spite of her neglect. She is looking for someone to love and care for her for the rest of her life. Maddie also suffers from anxiety disorder. She barks when left in her crate or is gated off in some part of the house where she can not see you. She is happy as a lark if she can be in the same room with you. We are seeking a family for Maddie where someone will be home all day. She can be left in her crate, but she will bark.
