Our Adopters truly are the best and we really need some help right now. We’re hoping that you’ll be able to help us. We are in dire need of foster homes! We currently have a large number of dogs in our program who are going to require being in foster care for an extended period of time before they will be ready to be adopted. These are they type of dogs who really need us and our help the most. These are “Mill” dogs who need a lot of time, patience and love to overcome the type of life they have lived up to this point. The problem this presents is that these dogs have filled the available slots that we have in the foster homes that we currently have and they do need to be fostered by experienced foster parents. This has greatly reduced the number of slots that we have available to help other dogs who through no fault of their own have lost the homes they had and now need to be rehomed. Our homes just can’t stretch to allow us to help any more. We have to recruit new foster homes for the dogs who need help on a shorter term basis. How can you help? If you’ve ever considered fostering please do so NOW. Some can’t foster and we understand that. But you can help us by getting the word and our information out there. Just print out a few copies of the document on this link and post them on community bulletin boards at places like Dog Parks, Your Vet’s Office, Any Pet Stores in the area you live in or even the Lunchroom of your place of work. " The mission of Shorewood Cocker Rescue, Inc. is to assist homeless Cockers find permanent homes with responsible, loving, forever families. We spay or neuter all Cockers prior to placement and check references on all adopters. We make every effort to carefully match each Cocker with the right family to maximize the likelihood of the adoption's success."
